Working within the Kwinana Bulk Terminal (KBT) Redevelopment Project team, this major project is a rare opportunity with a location in the greater Perth Metropolitan area, project stability and longevity, and the ability to have impact in a project set to significantly increase WA marine trade capability. Maximum Term contract until 2032 Role Highlights The Manager Commercial is at the forefront of shaping the success of Major Projects—driving the full spectrum of commercial and legal strategy, governance, and performance. This role plays a pivotal part in maximising financial value, strengthening contract integrity, and expertly navigating risk. By championing robust commercial frameworks and strong legal oversight, the Manager Commercial empowers confident decision-making and ensures projects are delivered with precision, control, and outstanding commercial outcomes. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Stakeholder Engagement Act as key commercial contact for suppliers and stakeholders Support negotiations and resolve issues Build strong relationships and manage legal advisors Project Deliverables Manage head contracts and subcontracts (e.g. FIDIC, NEC, AS4000) Ensure contract compliance and governance Provide commercial advice and lead decisions across procurement and delivery Project Controls Integrate commercial inputs into cost forecasting Monitor trends, claims, and commercial risks Corporate Build cross-functional relationships Promote and support a strong safety culture What Makes You a Great Fit As a collaborative, accountable and respectful leader, you will have combined commercial and contractual expertise, with sound judgement, and be comfortable operating at the intersection of strategy, risk, performance and delivery within a major project. You’ll also bring: Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or related discipline Experience (15 years) in commercial management on large-scale infrastructure projects Demonstrated experience with complex contracting models (e.g. PPP, Alliances, D&C) Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. FIDIC, NEC, AS) Proven track record in claims management and dispute resolution Desirable Qualifications and Skills Demonstrated experience in the development of commercial frameworks and contract forms Demonstrated experience in obtaining and providing independent defensible legal advice What We Offer Join Fremantle Ports and be part of a proud organisation with a rich history and culture that makes a significant contribution to the WA economy.
